Frequently asked questions

These answers describe the current product—not planned accounts, advertising, or synchronization. For solving help, continue to the practical guides below.

Does every Voku puzzle have one solution?

Yes. Release validation independently counts solutions and rejects a puzzle unless exactly one exists. It also verifies clue consistency and rejects duplicate starting grids.

How does the Daily Challenge work?

The UTC date and an explicit corpus version deterministically select a verified board. Everyone receives the same layout for that UTC day; a new challenge begins at 00:00 UTC.

What happens to my streak?

Completing the current daily puzzle adds that UTC date once. Consecutive UTC dates grow the current streak; missing a date starts a new current streak on the next completion. Your best streak remains in local statistics.

Where are my statistics and saved game stored?

The active game, preferences, statistics, recent results, and daily dates are versioned in this browser's local storage. Corrupt stored data is rejected instead of being trusted.

Can I play without an account?

Yes. Voku currently has no account backend. You can play all current modes without signing in.

Does progress sync between devices?

No. Local storage belongs to one browser profile. Clearing it, switching browser, or changing device can remove or separate your progress.

How are difficulty labels calculated?

Easy boards finish with modeled singles. Medium boards finish after at least one modeled locked-candidate or pair elimination. Hard means the documented evaluator stops before finishing; all categories are still verified for one solution.

How do Notes work?

Toggle Notes, then enter candidate digits into an empty cell. Confirmed placements remove related notes automatically. Notes record possibilities; they do not count as final values.

What does a hint do?

A hint reveals the mathematically correct value for one empty cell. A game currently provides up to three, and each use is retained in the result statistics and share card.

What does Undo restore?

Undo restores prior board and manual-note states. Mistakes already recorded and hints already consumed remain recorded, so Undo cannot erase the cost of those actions.

Does changing tabs pause the timer?

No. Pause is an explicit control. Hidden tabs, app switching, and device lock still count as elapsed time unless you manually pause first.

How can I send feedback?

Use the Feedback page for the configured form or email channel. Include the device, browser, route, what you expected, and what happened; never send a puzzle solution or sensitive information unless it is necessary.
