Medium Sudoku: turn notes into deductions
Medium boards are where candidate notes become working evidence. Singles still matter, but progress may require you to compare where candidates sit across a box and line or recognize a constrained pair.
Who this level is for
Players comfortable with the three Sudoku constraints who want longer, more deliberate solves without jumping straight to advanced patterns.
What to expect
Fewer immediate placements and occasional elimination chains. You may remove candidates for several moves before a new single appears, so accurate notes matter more than speed.
How Voku defines this level
Voku's classifier completes Medium boards logically and records use of at least one modeled elimination method: locked candidates, naked pairs, or hidden pairs. It still verifies one unique solution independently.
A reliable approach
- 01Build complete notes in the area where progress stopped.
- 02Compare each box with its crossing rows and columns.
- 03Treat eliminations as progress; do not force a placement.
- 04Rescan for singles after every candidate removal.
